Poker night....
Well another friday night poker over with. We decided to hold this game at my house cuz there was a good amount of ppl that came to play tonight. Looks like the new players like it and said that they would like to comeback and play next friday. I had a good time tonight also and so far my winning streak is still perfect. Havent lost a night yet :o). I wanted to say thanks to Robert, Erwin, Jeff and his GF Mary for commin and tryingout our poker nights. Hsing, Jeff, Chung and I the regular players enjoyed the new company. For those of u that wonder how our poker nights run, here is the run down. $5 buy in and u get $1, .25, .10, .05 and .01 chips. We start our bets at one cent and table max is 1 buck. 5 bucks lasts everyone all night and our games usually go for about 5-6hrs. We have everything from card shoe to a automatic shuffler. We us real casino chips and 5 decks of cards. If your intrested in play just let us know, like Erwin and Robert said, "It is a great way to get together, laugh and talk. It's a cheap way in having fun and it gets u away from all the stresses of work and school." I think that is true cuz Hsing totally forgot that he had a class tomorrow morning at 8AM!!! lol.... sorry Hsing hope u made it to class ok.

April 1st....
Yesterday April 1st was Ray's Bday. As most of u already know, Corporal Raymond Chung is in Iraq. He was one of the 1st ones to leave for there b 4 the war. His main job in the Marines was field communication but since he changed units he is now part of the civil affairs unit. That means that he is the Marines that help deal with the local ppl there that need humanitarian assisitance and also take care and help run the POW camps. He turned 23 this yr and I bet it will be one bday that he will remember for the rest of his life. Happy Bday ray.

MILITARY LAW...
After 5 yrs some of you still do not understand and respect what I say when I say that I can or cannot do whatever due to the military. Some look at my job in the military as just a job that everyone else has. What fking stupid naive minded BS is that!? If you dont go to work ontime does your job have the right to fine you $$ and possibly put you in jail or home arrest for a few days? Does your job tell you what clubs you are allowed to go to when your away from work? Does your job punish you after civilian laws has punished you? When we get a speeding ticket and pay a fine, there is a possiblity that we can get into trouble by our command also. If we get intoa fight and get arrested, there is a great chance that we will be restricted from leaving base for a few weeks. My job in the miltary puts me under 2 forms of the United States law. That means I get punished twice and if I was to do something or go some place that I shouldnt go, it means respect what I do to cover my ass. Wjhat do I mean by respect? It means that if I got to a club that is off limits I would only go with ppl that I feel comfertable with. PPL that I trust that wont do or say something stupid that may get me or us into trouble. Telling me off and how I dont understand my own military laws was a slap in the face. Put yourseld under those laws and maybe you'll fking understand. It sucks yes, but I try my best to follow it because I dont wanna get caught or get busted and if I go someplace and ask you to go, that basically means that I trust ur public conduct. That doesnt mean ask the whole fking world to go and esp with ppl that I dont know or trust in their actions. It's my ass we are talking about, dont like it that just go one ur own. It's never worth the risk for me.

Gulf War Syndrom (GWS)
Some of you may have read Jeff's latest blog entries about GWS and tha 95% of the 1st Gulf war is not there this time. That number should not be very surprising because that war ENDED over 12 yrs ago. Most of the military members that I know that are on their 1st enlistment doesnt intend to stay in. This is from 5 yrs of meeting new Marines. Also retire in the military you need to serve 20 yrs. This means that if old Gulf war soldiers are fighting in this war they must have joined the military in the mid 80's. Higher ranking soldiers generally do not do the fighting and are usually in the operations section on the military. This means that if there was a soldier that joined in the mid 80's he/she must have the rank of atleast SGT and if they are an officer they must have been atleast a Captain at the time of the war. By now they rank much to high to be a field soldier. Also Lance Corporal's and below make about 60-70% of the military. These are usually soldiers on their 1st contract MAYBE the start of their 2nd. Like any other kind of organization you cannot have more leaders than followers. Also with the point that I made that most do not stay for 20 yrs that means that there is less soldiers that would show up of a war 12 yrs later. The U.S. has less than 20% of their armed forces fighting this war right now. I belive that we havent even broken 1/4 mllion soldiers in the thearter yet. Keep in mind that the US Army alone has over 1 million soldiers and I belive they are the largest branch of our military. Marines are the smallest and we have about 40% of our forces there I belive. So it should not be surprising that 95% of the old war vets are not fighting at this war. Also.... I think the US has sent more American soldiers to this war than the last one because we are almost fighting this one solo. That means that from the old war... there are less soldiers there and so the odds that soldiers from then are to go now is very very very small unless you are a Marine of couse since we are so damn small and we make a large number of forces fighting there right now.
So... what does this long ass expanation mean? o.k... break it down EZ man style... Lets say we sent 100 soldiers to fight the 1st war. Take out OVER 65% of them because they chose not to renlist. That leaves about 35 left, now.... it has been 12 yrs since the last war so there must have been ATLEAST 15% of them that retired (I think that that # if really larger). This leaves 20 soldiers left or 20%. We must also take into account that some may have gotten into trouble or died so lets just set that as 1%. So.... this leaves about 19% of US soliders left that can be serving today. Now ALL of them must have picked up the rank of Staff Sergent and higher if enlist and Major or higher if an officer. These are the ranks of leaders and so the odds a large number of them being sent now is small. Yes we do have and need leaders there now but we also have many other operations going on world wide and also there are other places these senior military soldiers are now qualified for since they have the rank and the time in service.
